How to apply

1. Check trip availability

Please Contact us to see if there is space available on the trips that interest you. We will respond to your email within the next 24 hours (except during the Chinese Holidays).

If you have a group of 6 people or above, you can customize a travel program according to your travel dates, hotel preferences and any other special needs. The more participants in your group, the more discounts we can provide for your group.


2. Health Check

Before applying for one of our travel programs, you should have a full health check with your GP in your home country to make sure you are fit and healthy enough to travel. SCIC accepts no responsibility for any incidents arising from pre-existing medical conditions for the duration of the program.


3. Register the trip with us

For individual participants: please download the Registration Form, and email it to info@scic-beijing.com after completion. We will send you a confirmation email once we have received your application.

For group participants: please download the Group Registration Form, and email it to info@scic-beijing.com after completion. We will send you a confirmation email once we have received your application.


4. Submit a trip deposit

An deposit of USD $500 must be made when the registration is confirmed by us. Payments can be made in one of three ways; bank transfer, credit card or Paypal. For those who wish to transfer funds, please save the bank receipt and fax or send it with other required documents as proof of payment. SCIC is not responsible for any loss or misplaced payments in the course of bank transfer.

We will send you a confirmation/receipt, normally within 7 days of our receiving your trip registration form. The confirmation letter will confirm the details of your trip booking and show the outstanding balance.

Please note: All deposits are non-refundable. In the event of program cancellation by you, your deposit can be saved and used as deposit for any future SCIC travel or study programs by the paying party or by the paying party's friends or family members.

5. Apply for a Tourist Visa

Apply for a Tourist visa once you have registered the trip with us. Chinese visas can be easily applied for 3 months prior to the start of the trip. This can be done by visiting the Visa Office or Chinese Embassy in your local area. We will provide all the information and documents for your visa application. All applicants should submit an application in person or through a third party (e.g. travel agency).

Please bring the following documents to the Embassy or Consulate:

1. Completed visa application form
2. Itinerary or Flight Booking details
3. Passport (valid for at least six months after return date to your country)
4. Passport sized photograph
5. Visa Application fee

6. Pay final balance of your trip fee

The final balance for your travel program fees can be made once you have received the visa from the Chinese Embassy.You can settle your final balance in the first instance by bank transfer. If absolutely necessary you can pay your final balance on the day you arrive in China (if this is the case, we can only accept cash payments at this point).

Payment for your program can be made in one of three ways: bank transfer, credit card or cash payment (if paying by credit card, please be aware that there is a 4% extra surcharge). For security reasons if you are paying by cash, you can bring travellers¡¯ cheques into the country and convert them in any bank in China when you arrive. Please make sure to read SCIC¡¯s program information and Terms and Conditions before making payments.


7. Book a flight to China

Our programs do not include airfares to Beijing, China. For more information please consult local travel agencies, or search for available flights through the internet at sites such as: www.expedia.com

8. Obtain Travel Insurance

We require all our participants to purchase adequate travel and emergency medical assistance insurance in your home country before travelling. SCIC accepts no responsibility for costs, penalties or actions arising from participants neglecting to purchase adequate cover.



9. Send us your arrival details

Email us your flight details: date, time of arrival, airline, flight number, and place of departure, so we can arrange for airport reception. We will take you to the aiport once the trip has finished. Please forward this information to us once your flight reservation is confirmed.
